Old Hickory Beach

For those who would prefer day use of the shorelines of Old Hickory Lake, Old Hickory Beach may be the perfect solution. With plenty of room, there is even a large picnic shelter capable of accommodating as many as 100 people. It is also equipped with a grill.

Visitors who would like to go bird watching or just watch native wildlife can do that at Old Hickory Beach as well. The area is known for migratory songbirds, the blue heron and the snowy egret. The area is also home to white-tailed deer, wild turkey and rabbits.

There is a sandy swimming beach, a boat access ramp and a children’s playground. Sailing is also popular on the lake. Fishermen enjoy going after the bass, catfish and crappie that can be caught either from the bank or from the boat.

Old Hickory Beach also has drinking water and flush toilets available. For those who like to hike, the 1.1 mile Old Hickory Lake Nature Trail is available. Parking is limited at the beach. For day-use there is a $5 charge per vehicle. And it is CASH ONLY!
